Description
This is a sources sought announcement only. This is not a solicitation announcement. The purpose of this announcement is to gain knowledge of current market capabilities. U.S. Army, Program Manager (PM) Heavy Brigade Combat Team (HBCT)I is conducting Market Research for new technologies to support the HBCT platforms. Contractors are invited to make a presentation to the Heavy Brigade Combat Team leadership at the 2009 HBCT Industry Day Open House from 1 to 5 pm on Wednesday, 25 February 2009 during the Association of the United States Army (AUSA) Winter Symposium and Exposition. The HBCT Industry Open house will be held in the Floridian Grand Ballroom E of the Greater Fort Lauderdale/Broward County Convention Center, 1950 Eisenhower Boulevard, Fort Lauderdale, Florida. The areas of consideration for the HBCT platform are as follows: Mobility: fuel efficiency technologies; power recovery innovations/options (i.e. LED lights, etc); engine cooling/heat exchange; suspension improvements; and starter/generator innovations. Lethality/Survivability: 360 situational awareness; fire control; remote weapons station; thermal management and NBC detection/protection. Power Management: battery technologies; Battery management systems; Power management and distribution; LRU consolidation and On-board Power Auxiliary Unit (20KW-50KW). Digital Arch: Slip ring capacity increase; Ethernet technologies; and Line Replaceable Modules (LRM) Training: Embedded training technologies Crew Cooling Crew Station Enhancements Information on the platforms: Bradley vehicle - BAE is the Bradley LSI. The vehicle weight is currently 78K lbs. The vehicle utilizes a 650-800hp engine depending on the variant and runs on JP8 fuel. The vehicle utilizes a 1553 data bus architecture. The current vehicle software is written in ADA. The vehicle has a very high vibration profile. It operates in extreme temperature ranges and hostile environmental conditions. Abrams vehicle General Dynamics Land System is the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) for the Abrams tank. The vehicle weight is currently 70 tons. The vehicle utilizes a 1500hp engine and runs on JP8 fuel. The vehicle has a high shock/vibration profile. The vehicle operates in extreme temperature ranges and hostile environmental conditions. Rules for presentation - All technologies must be TRL 6 at a minimum - All technologies must meet an 18 month integration schedule. - All presentations must not exceed 10 min in length, including questions by PM HBCT. - All presentations will be executed in hard copy only, and will be accompanied by a business card/POC info.
