Description
The solicitation is amended for the purpose of addressing vendor questions submitted as result of the site visit, to provide floor drawings/locations and equipment lists, and to extend the RFQ due date. Answers to vendor questions regarding Centralized Environmental Monitoring System: Q1: Is it BAMCs intended goal to convert the existing monitoring system from hard wired to wireless? A1: Yes it is the Governments intent to have a wireless environmental monitoring system throughout the facility and outlining clinics, in its entirety. Although it may be more cost effective to have a mixed system (hardwired/ wireless), however, there is a requirement for flexibility due to the future expansion of the campus and transition phases for some of the clinical areas, we require flexibility with the system. The buildings that require monitoring follows: a.Brooke Army Medical Center, Bldg 3600 (Lower Level 7th Floor) b.ISR, Bldg. 3611 DCI Clinical Investigations (1st Floor) c.Blood Donor Center Bldg. 1278 (1 story) d.Troop Medical Clinic, Bldg. 1279 (1 story) e.Ft. Sam Community Pharmacy Bldg. 1204 (1 story) f.Camp Bullis TMC (1 story) There is no longer have the requirement to convert the (117) Amega Scientific points at the VETCOM, Bldg. 2630 from hardwired to wireless. The only requirement is to integrate the RFQs required system with the Amega Scientific environmental monitoring system by providing a human interface connectivity. Essentially, there will be two systems: the requested BAMC, enterprise-wide centralized environmental monitoring system and the VETCOM, Bldg. 2630 Amega Scientific environmental monitoring system. We will not maintain, validate, or service the Amega system, it is only the Governments intent to be able to view that system graphically with the capability to interrogate certain features (i.e. probe demographics, alarm functionality) and create reports, based on certain administrative rights, from the requested system. Q2: In converting the monitoring system will BAMC require the contractor to remove the existing hard wired system? A2: Yes, de-install of the existing hard-wired system is required. Q3: Will BAMC develop a priority list for conversion from hard wired to wireless or will this priority list fall on the contractor? A3: The Government will develop and provide a priority list to the selected vendor for the conversion to wireless. Q4: If the VETCOM hardwired system is removed from this centralizing of systems will BAMC still be interested in a human interface consolidated platform? A4: Yes. BAMC is still interested in a human interface consolidated platform with the Amega Scientific environmental monitoring system located at the VETCOM bldg. 2630. Please read the statement provided in Question 1. Q5: Will the contractor be given AutoCAD drawings to meet the Human Interface requirements identified in the solicitation? A5: Yes. They will be provided via email upon written or emailed request to James Metzger, Great Plains Regional Contracting Office at: james.metzger@us.army.mil Q6: Are all points to be validated and covered by Service Plan as part of this bid? A6: Yes. Q7: Are there any special gowning procedures? A7: There are areas where special gowning procedures are required. Instructions will be provided with the priority list. Q8: Is it acceptable to provide two separate bids with two separate technologies? A8: Yes. The floor drawings and equipment list are available by email request to James Metzger, Great Plains Regional Contracting Office: james.metzger@us.army.mil The RFQ due date is extended to 13 February 2009, 4:00 p.m. CST.
