Description

The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) intends to procure on a sole source basis under the authority of FAR 6.302-1(a)(2) with American National Standards Institute (ANSI), 25 W. 43rd Street, 4th Floor, New York, NY. 10036, a government membership service to access the database at American National Standards Institute for research purposes using simplified acquisition procedures. This unique database has only one known source: American National Standards Institute, they are the manufacturer and the developer of this membership. No solicitation package will be issued. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations; however, the Government will consider responses received by 12pm, EST, on February 12, 2009. A determination, by the Government not to compete the proposed acquisition based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
