- Solicitation 8009-01 provides for Exclusive Use fully contractor operated and maintained water scooper aircraft services in support of fire suppression operations in Alaska and the lower 48 states in support of the Department of the Interior and other Federal wildland fire suppression programs. The contract period will be from May 23, 2009 or date of award through August 10, 2009 with a government unilateral option for four additional years. The contract requires two multi-engine water scooping tanker airplanes with a minimum tank capacity of 1400 US gallons water and a payload of at least 1000 gallons of water. The Contractor shall possess an approval from the U.S. Dept of Agriculture/Dept. of Interior Interagency Airtanker Board for each aircraft offered. The issue date of the solicitation is February 9, 2009. The closing date for receipt of bids is approximately February 25, 2009. The solicitation will be available at this site and http://amd.nbc.gov.
