THIS IS A SOURCES SOUGHT ANNOUNCEMENT ONLY-A solicitation is not available at this time. Issuance of this notice does not constitute any obligation on the part of the Government to procure these services or to issue a solicitation. A Government solicitation document to provide these services is being developed with one base year plus four one-year option periods, and a contract may or may not result. Market research is being conducted to determine interest and capability of potential sources for this requirement. All information submitted in response to this announcement is voluntary, the Government is under no obligation to pay for information requested nor will it compensate any respondent for any cost incurred in developing information provided to the Government. The Department of Commerce, National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), National Weather Service (Eastern Region) seeks information on Contractors who are capable of providing janitorial services 3-7 days a week depending on the site location for all of the following 17 National Weather Service locations: Weather Forecast Office (WFO), Caribou, Maine WFO, Gray, Maine WFO, Wilmington, North Carolina WFO, Newport, North Carolina WFO, Upper Air Facility, Raleigh, North Carolina WFO, Mount Holly, New Jersey WFO, Buffalo, New York WFO, Johnson City, New York WFO, Cleveland Hopkins Airport, Cleveland, OH WFO, Wilmington, OH Erie Weather Service Office (WSO) PA, International Airport, Erie, Pennsylvania WFO, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania WFO, Charleston, South Carolina WFO, Greer, South Carolina WFO, Columbia, South Carolina WFO, Blacksburg, VA WFO, Wakefield, VA DESCRIPTION: The Contractor will be responsible for providing a full range of janitorial services including but not limited to the following services: • Sweeping or dust mopping all uncarpeted flooring; • Damp mopping ADP flooring; • Floor Maintenance (including stripping twice a year or as needed and buffing weekly); • Vacuuming all carpeted floors; • Spot Cleaning Carpets; • Shampooing Carpets (twice annually); • Dusting all surfaces and furniture, including venetian blinds and/or window coverings; • Emptying Trash; • Cleaning drinking fountains; • Cleaning and sanitizing restrooms daily; • Cleaning food and service break areas; • Cleaning glass and windows (including all interior/exterior building windows, interior building lights and glass; and • Furnishing paper products and cleaning supplies as needed. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code is 561720 (Size Standard: $16.5 million in average annual receipts). DOC/NOAA requests the following information in reference to your company: 1. Name; Address; Point of Contact; Telephone Number; and E-mail address. 2. Based on the NAICS size standard, indicate whether your company is large or small. 3. If applicable, indicate your company's socio-economic status (i.e. Small Disadvantaged, 8(a), Woman-Owned, HubZone, Veteran-Owned, and/or Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned). 4. Indicate whether your company can provide these services as either a prime contractor or subcontractor. 5. Submit a synopsis of your company's capability to perform the required services. 6. Indicate whether your company can provide firm-fixed prices for future contract periods (i.e. a contract with a base year and four option years). 7. Indicate whether your company is registered in Central Contract Registration (CCR). 8. Indicate how many calendar days following an award it would take your company to begin providing the required services. 9. If applicable, furnish any General Services Administration Federal Supply Schedule contract number your company has been awarded in association with the required services and the respective expiration date(s). 10. Indicate which locations your company is interested in providing janitorial services for. All responses to this notice are due via e-mail to Linda.C.Stein@noaa.gov No Later than February 27, 2009 at 4:00 P.M. Eastern Standard Time. NOTE: ALL CONTRACTORS DOING BUSINESS WITH THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT MUST BE IN THE CENTRAL CONTRACTOR REGISTRATION (CCR) DATABASE. The website for registration is www.ccr.gov.
