Description
Production of Winter Army Combat Shirts The U.S. Army Natick Soldier Research, Development & Engineering Center (NSRDEC), Natick, MA, Clothing and Individual Equipment Team on behalf of the Program Manager for Clothing and Individual Equipment have a need to identify a business which can design and produce a winter version of the Army Combat Shirt with an integrated patch repair kit. This is developmental item which will bridge a cold weather capability gap currently identified by soldiers in the field. The army is looking for items which can be used in a limited cold weather user evaluation scheduled from Feb-April of this year, the data obtained form the user evaluation and other testing simulations will be used to develop a product description which may be used in future procurement actions. The Army is looking for a mature design, that meets all current uniform, pattern and shade requirements, however there is no current specifications to meet. Approximately 875 shirts are required no later than the first week in March 2009. This date is critical in meeting cold weather test requirements. The government is conducting this market investigation to acquire information on manufactures that have experience in the research, development, and design of the Army Combat Shirts and is willing to integrated cold weather protection capabilities as well as meeting this very tight production schedule. Interested firms are requested to submit relevant information on their company within ten (10) days following the publication of this RFI. Any relevant company background/experience, and any other information that the company believes demonstrates their value / ability to meet the aforementioned requirements should be included. Respondents must be registered in the Central Contractor Registration (CCR) database and provide a DUNS number. Firms may register for CCR at www.ccr.gov. All information and evaluation results will be controlled and used for governmental purposes only.
