Description
Load test multiple pieces of equipment that fall under the categories of cranes, hoists, slings, trucks, forklifts or jacks and stands. A listing of the items that need to be tested and inspected is available upon request. The testing and inspection must be completed in accordance with TB 43-0142 Safety Inspection and Testing of Lifting Devices, dated 28 Feb 97. All equipment will be given a rated Load Test and written certification of load testing to the using activity. The tester shall have a valid calibration label affixed in a conspicuous place equipment being used to conduct tests. All locally fabricated weights and available items used for load testing must be verified for proper weight by use if a calibrated scale. All equipment will be inspected using the Annual or Periodic inspection criteria that is outlined in one of the five categories listed above. Upon conclusion of inspections and load tests, the equipment as applicable will be stenciled or tagged as required. There is roughly 42 items that fall under the requirement.
