- The U.S. Army, Joint Munitions and Lethality Contracting Center, on behalf ofthe Office of the Product Manager, Crew Served Weapons and the U.S. ArmyResearch, Development, and Engineering Command, Armament Research,Development and Engineering Center (RDECOM- ARDEC), Picatinny Arsenal,NJ are currently seeking sources for the availability of a 40mm Target Practice (TP) Non-dud Producing Cartridge and/or suitable technology forthe development of a 40mm TP Non-dud Producing Cartridge that provides animpact signature visible to the human eye during both daylight andnighttime and visible through thermal weapon sights. Also of interestis information as to the reduced environmental impact of such rounds(Green Ammunition) and Non-UXO advances. The TP cartridge will becapable of being fired from the MK19 MOD 3 Grenade Launcher. Itsobjective is to enhance training capabilities of troopsequipped with currently fielded thermal weapon sights while producingeffective visual signature for use with standard iron sights. All responsible interested sources are encouraged to submit theircapabilities, available products or available technology for a potential future development program in regard to the above no laterthan 30 days of this notice. All information is to be submitted at no cost or obligation to the Government. Please include company name,address, telephone number, technical point of contact, andbrochures/literature. Interested firms should adequately describe their experience in thermal signature technology or 40mm cartridges as appropriate. This is a market survey for informational and planning purposes only.THIS IS NOT A SOLITICATION AND DOES NOT OBLIGATE THE GOVERNMENT TO ISSUE A SOLICITATION. Please be advised that the Government will not pay for any information submitted under this announcement.
