Description
USDA Forest Service, Pacific Northwest Research Stn. will be issuing a request for quotes for lodging, meals and meeting facilities for the PNW field crew empoyees attending the spring Field Crew Training March 30 - April 11, 2009. The facility/location needed will house and feed the entire PNW field crew (aprox 45 - 50 people). The facility should be no greater than 20 miles from an established town (in Northern Californiea, Oregon or Washington) that has adequate lodging for additional guests as needed. Preferable, accomodations should not be bunkhouse style and no more than 2 individuals to a room ( more than 2 to a room could be considered depending on size and comfort of space). Along with lodging, conference/meeting room large enough to accomodate 50 people plus presenters with adequate lighting and suitable for use of audio/visual equipment. Classrom setting with tables and chairs that is adjustable for both lecture style presentations as well as demonstrations. Internet access in conferenc/meeting rooms. 1 or 2 additional meeting rooms for breakout sessions - not necessararily classroom style that can accomodate up to 20 people. Grounds on property withing walking distance to forested areas suitable and accessible for field excercises. This includes a variety of plant and tree species and forest types on relatively flat ground (< 20% slope). Daily houskeeping of guest rooms that include a daily towel change and cleaned and maintained restrooms. Restrooms accessible from the guest rooms that are shared by no more than 2-5 people. Meals provided shall be buffet style for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Vegetarian choices available for every meal. Breakfast should include a meat, eggs, fruit, toast, cereal, juices and coffee. Depending on field activities, lunch items may need to be available in the morning for the (50) individuals to make their own sandwiches and make their own sack lunch. Bags and sandwich wraps shall be provided by the vendor for this purpose. Lunch items should include choices such as a variety of meats and cheeses for sandwiches, a choice of type of bread, condiments, fruit, crackers, cookies and canned or packaged drinks (juice or soda). Dinner buffet including a meat entree such as baked salmon, chicken, or beef tenderloin, vegetarian main dish, a variety of vegetables, salad and dessert. Intent is to award one base year with four option years for this service. Complete Request for Quotes package will be uploaded on or before February 20, 2009.
