- Description
- Several questions have been received relative to this sources sought - market research notice. The questions and their corresponding answers are provided below for your information. 1) Question: I am inquiring about the FLIS Transformation RFI for an enterprise workflow tool. In our initial review of the broad requirements, we believe that two, possibly three COTS products could provide the solution DLIS is looking for. As a system integrator with no specific tool to our name, we would rather not nominate a single solution at this early stage. Rather, we would like to know if it would be acceptable to respond to the RFI in the following basic format for section 3, Technical Ideas: - Compare and contrast the two or three potential top-tier solutions against the requirements citing pros and cons of each. - Recommend that a next step be to further refine the broad requirements to finalize the recommendation to a single COTS product. Answer: Yes, it would be acceptable to submit a response formatted in this manner. 2) Question: I'd like to get clarification on the page limit for section 3. Technical Ideas (up to 10 pages). See below. Does the 10 page limit refer to the Technical Ideas only and therefore a, b, c, & d. is NOT included in the 10 page count? Answer: Please limit the RFIs to be 10 pages in length total for all responses to question 3 (including sections 3 a-d). In your final submission, you may additionally include a cover page and a separate page for any citations (these are not included in the 10-page limit). 3) Question: We saw the RFI on the FLIS workflow tool and have already started writing our reply to it but we do have a few questions. We feel confident in our knowledge of the existing applications but we are unsure of the FLIS transformation strategy; do you want to explore technologies that replace the CRS application and the FLIS database wholesale, or is the scope of the project limited to beefing up the CRS workbench to handle additional types of work, or somewhere in between? Or can this question only be answered after the new technologies outlined in the RFI responses have been evaluated? Answer: Responses to the RFI should be independent of current tools/applications/systems utilized within DLIS. The focus is on understanding software workflow capabilities and best practices from industry, with a focus on ensuring the technical capabilities outlined in the RFI are met. - End of questions and answers -
