- Description
- Basic Requirement: A tunable, mid-infrared, continuous wave (CW) single frequency radiation source generated using fiber laser pumped Periodically Poled Lithium Niobate-based (PPLN) Optical Parametric Oscillator (OPO). The device shall include all associated controllers and must broadly tunable. The Optical Parametric Oscillator Specifications: The OPO shall produce CW, single-mode, coherent mid-infrared radiation with a free-running bandwidth of less than 1 MHz. The idler beam from the OPO must be continuously tunable without mode-hop over a frequency range of greater than 30 GHz at a scanning repetition rate greater than 50 Hz, as well as piecewise tunable over the wavelength range of 2.5 to 3.2 micrometers. The output from the idler must maintain a power of at least 500 milliwatts over its entire tuning range and be stable to better than 5% rms. The pump fiber laser required to produce this output shall be included and fully integrated into the OPO system. All electronics and optics necessary to tune the OPO with these specifications are to be included. OPTION 1: Long wavelength optics: Vendors are invited to offer as an option additional equipment (optics, controllers, etc...) that increase the output wavelength coverage of the idler beam to wavelengths longer than 3.2 micrometers. This option shall include all additional necessary equipment to operate the OPO at these wavelengths including cabling, control electronics, crystals, optical components, etc. OPTION 2: Short wavelength optics: Vendors are invited to offer as option additional equipment (optics, controllers, etc...) that increase the output wavelength coverage of the idler beam to wavelengths shorter than 2.5 micrometers. This option shall include all additional necessary equipment to operate the OPO at these wavelengths including cabling, control electronics, crystals, optical components, etc. OPTION 3: Installation: The installation cost to install the system on site at Eglin AFB, FL. Utility Requirements: Vendor will provide all electronic controllers as well as interconnection and power cables required for operation using 110 VAC, 60 Hz power. The system must be air-cooled and not require water hook-up. Documentation/Data: Vendor will provide a copy of all documentations, user instructions, etc.... New Materials: All parts used in this system must be new. No recycled, refurbished, or otherwise used parts are permitted in this system. Serviceability and Warranty: Vendor will clearly describe which parts are covered under the standard Warranty, the duration of the standard Warranty. Vendor is invited to propose as an option an extended Warranty plan which will cover all parts, labor, and travel charges for a limited time period.
