- Description
- Department of Energy/National Nuclear Security AdministrationRegional Nuclear Suppliers Outreach Event Augusta, Georgia Augusta Marriott Hotel & Suites Two Tenth Street Augusta, Georgia 30901 March 17 18, 2009 Background and Purpose of the Suppliers Forum The Department of Energy (DOE) Office of Environmental Management (EM), and the National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA), will be sponsoring a Regional Nuclear Suppliers Outreach Event, in partnership with the Energy Facility Contractors Group (EFCOG) and the Nuclear Energy Institute (NEI) for suppliers interested in providing services and products in the nuclear sector on March 17-18, 2009 in Augusta, GA. This Regional Nuclear Suppliers Outreach Event is an excellent opportunity for companies interested in working in the DOE nuclear sector to gain insights into the current and future markets for products and services at the DOE and NNSA sites of Savannah River, Oak Ridge, and Portsmouth/Paducah, and requirements to enter or to continue to work on nuclear projects in the DOE complex. In addition, participants will have the opportunity to interact directly with senior executives, project managers, and procurement personnel working for DOE and NNSA and its prime contractors; and, gain insight into Nuclear Quality Assurance program requirements applicable to both the DOE and commercial nuclear industry sectors. The purpose of this forum is two fold. First, it will help ensure that all EM and NNSA sites have an adequate number of qualified nuclear and non-nuclear suppliers for future projects and programs. Second, it will provide information for suppliers regarding the needs of DOE projects and programs for their products and services in the years ahead. Although DOE will be looking at companies that already have experience providing nuclear products and services, opportunities do exist for new companies to supply DOE with these types of products and services. Such DOE experience would assist companies in marketing similar products and services to the commercial nuclear power industry as the commercial nuclear renaissance in the U.S. and overseas evolves. Who should attend? Suppliers who wish to provide their products and services to DOE for its projects and programs for both nuclear and non-nuclear applications. Services, for example, would include safety analysis, engineering, design, construction, professional, and administrative support. Examples of products include engineered items, piping, valves, pumps, heat exchangers, cables, electrical components, and duct work. Executives and business development, sales, and marketing professional will find the forum very informative and support potential expansion of their businesses into the DOE and commercial nuclear markets. Registration There is no registration fee for the event but you must register. Register at: www.prc8a.com/doernsoe
