Description
The purpose of this announcement is to provide a minimum of 10 days notice before issuance of solicitation to exchange power generators at no cost to the Government as follows. The US Army, 249 Engineer Battalion, is soliciting offers on an unrestricted basis for the exchange of five (5) each MP-36A, 4,500 kW Power Plants in exchange for as many new 800 kW, 480 VAC, self-contained trailer mounted generators as an offeror wishes to bid. Each MP-36A plant consist of one (1) each Control Van and three (3) each 1,500 kW Generations. The motive power for the generators are EMD, 567E, 16 cylinder diesel engines. All five (5) plants have been upgraded with Digital Synchronizer and Load Control, Woodward 2301A Speed Control, setup for EGB-13P Governors. All the original output breakers have been replaced with vacuum breakers. At the time the units were returned to their current location they were fully operational. The new equipment should have at a minimum the following 1.Be in the output range of 800 kW, 480 VAC 2.Fully self-contained with day tank, capable of operating remotely 3.Capable of being paralleled together 4.Mounted on a DOT highway approved chassis trailer capable of transporting the combined weight of the trailer and the generator system 5.Meet all state and DOT regulations for height and weight. Units must be highway transportable WITHOUT special permits in the 48 contiguous states 6.Meet all EPA Tier 3 requirements for emissions 7.Exhaust system shall be installed, enclosed within the unit 8.Contractor must have produced at least fifteen (15) similar units prior to production of the new unit or units that the contractor proposes to the Government. The units are located at Hill AFB, UT and site visit information will be provided in the solicitation. The new units shall be delivered to Ft. Belvoir, VA. This will be unrestricted. Award will be made to the responsive contractor providing the Best Value to the Government. All information will be posted on the solicitation. Submit questions regarding solicitation to Damon C.
