- The Kansas City Commodity Office (KCCO), Domestic Procurement Division, 6501 Beacon Drive, Stop 8718, Kansas City, MO 64133, is seeking qualified companies to produce and provide one-pound low moisture part skim mozzarella chunks, two-pound cheddar cheese chunks, and two-pound reduced-fat cheddar cheese chunks. This notice will serve as market research to obtain the availability of these products. This notice is not a formal solicitation but a request for interested parties to provide product information. Interested suppliers should submit the following information: Name, address, contact person, title, telephone and fax numbers, email address, and available website. Each supplier must provide unit size, quantity and weight per case, pallets per truckload, truckload weight (gross and net), level of interest in offering one-pound low moisture part skim mozzarella chunks, two-pound natural cheddar cheese chunks, and of two-pound reduced-fat cheddar cheese chunks to United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), capacity capabilities, business size standard, specifications on product stacking, transportation modes and manufacturing locations. In addition, each supplier must provide product brand name, ingredients composition, nutrition facts, servings per container and shelf life. All vendors that are considering offering cheese to USDA must produce from a dairy plant inspected and approved by Agriculture Marketing Service. Information on how to become an approved plant, or a list of approved plants can be obtained at http://www.ams.usda.gov/dairy/pltbk797.pdf. Suppliers shall also comply with all applicable Federal and State mandatory requirements and regulations relating to the preparation, packaging, labeling, storage, distribution of the product within the commercial marketplace. The delivered product shall comply with all applicable provisions of the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act, the Fair Packaging and Labeling Act, and regulations promulgated there under. The applicable NAICS code for this procurement is 311513 with a small business size standard of 500 employees. Future solicitations will specify the various types of commodities to be procured, the specifications, the office to which offers are to be submitted, the closing time for receipt of offers, and all other applicable provisions.
