- Description
- The Naval Air Systems Command Headquarters (NAVAIRHQ), Patuxent River, MD intends to procure forty-two (42) Extended Range Kits Upgrades for BQM-74E Aerial targets by modifying contract N00019-05-C-0040 with Northrop Grumman Corporation. The contractor shall convert a quantity of 42 Government Furnished P/N 98421-505 Extended Range Kits to a -509. As the designer, developer and manufacturer of the BQM-74E Aerial Target Vehicle, Northrop Grumman is the only firm with the requisite knowledge, data and rights to the data to fulfill this requirement. NAVAIR intends to procure these upgrades under the authority of 10 USC 2304(c)(1), FAR 6.302-1, through the aforementioned modification to the existing contract. THIS NOTICE OF INTENT IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE PROPOSALS. However, all responses received within fifteen days after the date of publication of this synopsis will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to open the requirement to competition based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received as a result of the notice of intent will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. See note 22.
