Description
Response Date: March 10, 2009@3:00pm EST –The U.S. Department of Labor is seeking a qualified Construction firm for a project at the Hawaii-Maui Job Corp Center in Makawao, Hawaii. The estimated design and construction range for this project is $1 million to $5 million. We are looking for a firm that qualifies under the Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business Program mentioned in Federal Acquisition Regulation Subpart 19. The project involves services for the design and construction of a new 44 bed dormitory building at the Hawaii/Maui Job Corps Center. The building, totaling approximately 8,000 gross square feet, shall be designed and constructed through site adaptation using plans and specifications provided by the U.S. Department of Labor. The work shall also include miscellaneous site improvements in the form of general landscaping, roads, parking, drainage, connection to all utility lines and site/security lighting for the new building. The work includes national and local code review and applicable design modifications, civil and utility design and construction, foundation design and construction, updating the design of al major building systems, modifications to the building as required by the Scope of Work. The work also includes demolition and removal/abandonment of existing utility elements and restoration of the site areas impacted by construction operations. THE EXTENT OF THE WORK WILL BE DESCRIBED IN THE SOLICITATION WHEN IT IS POSTED ON FEBRUARY 10, 2009. NO OTHER INFORMATION WILL BE AVAILABLE BEFORE THE SOLICITAION IS POSTED. The work will also include services for the preparation of construction documents for the demolition of Building 2 - Men's Dormitory, Building 3 - Men's Dormitory and Building 6 - Men's Lounge. Buildings 2 and 3, constructed in 1960, are both 2,025 gross square foot single story wood framed structures with concrete pier foundations, wood siding and built-up roofing systems. Building 6, constructed in 1960, is an 880 gross square foot single story wood framed structure with a concrete pier foundation system, wood siding and a built-up roof system. All work shall be in accordance with the plans and specifications provided by the U.S. Department of Labor. The North American Industry Classification System Code (NAICS) is 236220, and the Small Business Standard is $33.5 million. NO CALLS WILL BE ACCEPTED
