- The United States Army Corps of engineers, New York District, intends to issue a combined synopsis/solicitation in accordance with the procedures as specified under FAR Part 12.603. This solicitation is being conducted under the Simplified Acquisition Procedures specified under FAR Part 13. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation, quotes are being requested and written solicitation will not be issued. This solicitation is a Request for Quote (RFQ), W912DS-09-T-0006. The United States Army Corp of Engineers, New York District, intends to award a firm fixed price purchase order, for the procurement of eighteen (18) Douglas Fir Timbers to be delivered to the United States Army Corp of Engineers, Albany Field Office. This procurement is 100 percent set-aside for small business. All responsible small business may submit a quotation, which if timely received, shall be considered. The small size standard is 100 for North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code 423310. The RFQ will be evaluated based on price with award being made to the lowest responsible offeror. SCOPE OF WORK SPECIFICATIONS: Purchase of Douglas Fir Timbers, number 1 grade or better, rough cut with sound square edges. Quantity equal 18. Size equals 12 inches by 12 inches. Length equals 20 feet. Delivery shall be made no later than 60 days following the award. The price for the timbers shall include all costs associated with shipping and delivery of the timbers to the USACE Albany Field Office, 1 Bond Street, Troy, New York 12180. FOB: Destination. QUANTITY OF MEASURE: Douglas Fir Timbers 18 each. The media selected for issuance of the synopsis/solicitation and amendments, if any, will not be available or issued. Interested parties may download and print the solicitation at no charge at https://www.fbo.gov/index. The new system called Federal Business Opportunities (FedBizOps) (https://www.fbo.gov/index) is a web based dissemination tool designed to safeguard acquisition-related information for all Federal Agencies. Business opportunities can be located on Federal Business Opportunities (www.fedbizopps.gov). There will be no automated e-mail notification of amendments. To keep informed of changes to this RFQ: Check www.fedbizopps.gov frequently. Some contractor tools are the following: 1. Register to receive notification and 2. Subscribe to the Mailing List for specific solicitation at Federal Business Opportunities (www.fedbizopps.gov). 3. Project specification files and drawings are portable document files (PDF) and can be viewed, navigated, or printed using A5. 5. Internet Explorer 6.0 the recommended Browser. However, Internet Explorer 4.x, Internet Explorer 5.5 or greater, Netscape 4.x (except 4.7) and Netscape 5.x are also compatible. DFARS 252.204-7004, Central Contractor Registration (CCR) applies to this procurement. Prospective contractors must be registered in the Department of Defense (CCR) Database prior to award. Lack of registration in the CCR will make an offeror ineligible to download the solicitation and for award. Information on CCR registration and annual confirmation requirements may be obtained by calling 1-888-227-2423 or via the Internet at http://www.ccr.gov. Specifications for solicitation W912DS-09-T-0006 will be available on or about 28 Jan 09. The Offerors must submit their quotes on the full quantity identified. The Contracting Officer reserves the right to make no award under this procedure. Quotations are due 13 February 2009 no later than 2:00 PM (Eastern Standard Time). Faxed quotes will be accepted.
