- Description
- The Air Force intends to procure a Korean National Airspace System (KNAS) Simulator and a Korean Automated Protocol Exchanger (KAPEX) and a Korean Flight Data Input/Output (KFDIO). The KNAS consists of a software/hardware solution that will simulate the Korean National Air Space environment with the intent of increasing air traffic efficiency. The KAPEX is a protocol converter that translates and processes air trafficcontrol (ATC) flight plan and radar handoff messages between the US built Standard Terminal Automation Replacement System (STARS) used at Department of Defense ATC facilities in Korea and the Korean air traffic control facilities. The simulator will be used for testing KAPEX with STARS in the US. The KFDIO function is to print flight plans on a flight strip printer. In addition to this output of flight plans via the printer, the KFDIO will also allow controllers to create local flight plans, make changes to existing flight plans, and create what are referred to as stereo flight plans, or "canned" flight plans. The KFDIO System is comprised of the software necessary to process flight data, a personal computer with monitor, peripheral input devices, and printer. The above will require design experience on DoD/FAA contracts in Air Traffic Control message transfer functions. Specifically the following experience is required: 1. Air Traffic Control (ATC) flight plan and radar handoff message processing software development. 2. Standard Terminal Automation Replacement System (STARS) Inter-Facility Data Transfer synchronous serial interface and protocol driver development. 3. STARS digital radar data input synchronous serial interface and protocol driver development. 4. Real-time ATC message and radar track simulator software development. 5. Enroute message computer identifier (CID) and terminal message CID dynamic substitution software development. 6. Graphical user interface software development. 7. Radar track and latitude/longitude data display software development. There is incidental Technical Support and Travel to be included in this procurement. This buy is NOT Foreign Military Sales. Companies with the above experienc! e are invited to submit their qualifications to the buyer, Michael Cunningham at Michael.Cunningham@hanscom.af.mil, (781) 377-2231 for technical issues contact the Program Manager Lt. Jason Patterson at Jason.Patterson@hanscom.af.mil, 603 377-9019.
