- Description
- The General Services Administration (GSA) is the mandatory source for non-tactical vehicles for executive & other agencies. It currently acquires and manages a wide variety of vehicles solutions such as Passenger Motor, Light Trucks, Sedans, Station Wagons, Law Enforcement, Ambulances and Medium and Heavy Trucks to include: Cab and Chassis, Dump Trucks, Tractors, and Van Trucks. Vehicles offered to GSA must meet Federal Standards 307 and 122 for Passenger, Sedan, Light Trucks; Federal Standards 794 and 807 for Medium Heavy Vehicles; and Federal Standard 1822 (KKK) for Ambulances. The Federal Standards are available at http://apps.fss.gsa.gov/vehiclestandards/. In Fiscal Year 2008 (Oct 1 through Sep 30), GSA’s vehicle sales were over $1.3 billion and delivered more than 68,000 vehicles to its agency customers. GSA contemplates issuing new solicitations for most of its vehicle programs this coming summer and is inviting industry partners to join us in a pre-solicitation conference to be held on February 19, 2009 from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm, Eastern Standard Time (EST) at its office located at 2200 Crystal Drive Room L1303, Arlington, Va. 22202. The presolicitation conference will provide an opportunity to understand GSA’s goals for the program; learn about the proposed acquisition approach; and seek industry feedback on how to improve the programs and/or increase competition for the government’s requirements. Interested parties should RSVP to the event by sending confirmation of attendance via email to ontheroad@gsa.gov and include company name, address, telephone, fax, email, and names and titles of attendees. Directions to the building are attached.
