- NAVSEA intends to issue RFP N00024-09-R-6227 to Lockheed Martin MS2, 9500 Godwin Drive Manassas Virginia 22110 under existing contract N00024-04-C-6207 to procure additional A-RCI hardware systems and Legacy Replacement systems along with Precable Kits and associated spares, Modernization hardware, and New Construction long lead-time and EOQ material for SSN688, SSN688I, SSN21, SSBN726, and VIRGINIA Class Submarines. This procurement action is intended to satisfy the FY09 hardware requirements in accordance with the Fleet Modernization schedule and the VIRGINIA Class Modernization and New Construction requirements. A total of two Phase III A-RCI systems, three Phase IV A-RCI systems, one SSN21 system, and three Legacy Replacement systems, including the Precable Kits and associated spares will be procured. SSBN material will be procured to support the refurbishment of three existing systems for upcoming installations. One VIRGINIA Class Modernization system will be p! rocured along with the Precable Kit and associated spares. New Construction requirements will include procurement of long lead-time material for VIRGINIA Shipset 11, along with EOQ material for Shipsets 12 through 14. A-RCI is a sonar system upgrade that integrates and improves Towed Array, Hull Array, Sphere Array, and other ship sensor processing through rapid insertion of COTS-based hardware and software. It has already been successfully integrated into the first ten ships of the VIRGINIA Class which have now begun a modernization program and the procurement of new construction systems for the next four ships.
