Description
This Sources Sought Notice is for information and planning purposes only and shall not be construed as a solicitation or as an obligation on the part of the National Institutes of Health (NIH). The purpose of this Sources Sought is to seek the availability and capability of small business concerns, including 8(a) small business and/or small qualified small business concerns [including Small Disadvantaged Businesses (SDB), Woman-owned Small Businesses (WOSB), Historically Underutilized Business Zone (HUBZone) Small Businesses, Veteran-Owned Small Businesses (VOSB) and Service-Disabled Veteran-owned Small Businesses (SDVOSB] that current authorized are AbilityOne distributors interested in and capable of performing the work described herein: The National Institutes of Health is soliciting bids to furnish The Gaithersburg Distribution Center (GDC) with Office Supplies. The Government expects to award a firm-fixed-price, indefinite delivery (requirements) type contract for a period of one year with two successive 12-month options. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 424120. The related small business size standard is 500 employees. The capabilities statements are due on January 30, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. DST. All future information about this acquisition, including any amendments, will also be distributed through this website: www.fbo.gov. Interested parties are responsible for monitoring this site to insure they have the most up-to-date information concerning this acquisition. This is not a request for proposals. The intention of this announcement is to survey the market for potential offerors. Interested qualified small business organizations should submit a tailored capability statement for this requirement, not to exceed 15 single-sided pages (including all attachments, resumes, charts, etc.) presented in single-space and using a 12-point font size minimum, that clearly details the ability to perform the aspects of the notice described above and in the 263-2009-KH-0031. Include in this description an explanation as to how delivery problems are handled, i.e., late deliveries and whether or not you can handle requests for expedited deliveries. All proprietary information should be marked as such. Statements should also include an indication of current certified small business status; this indication should be clearly marked on the first page of your capability statement (preferably placed under the eligible small business concerns name and address). Responses will be reviewed only by NIH personnel and will be held in a confidential manner. A list of 3 references, including names of organizations to whom you have provided Office Supplies in the past, contact names, telephone numbers, approximate dollar value of the purchase orders or contracts and period of performance for the contract/order. Address all of your applicable business size representations. This market survey is being conducted through the FedBizOpps to reach the widest possible audience and to gather current market information. Responding firms should provide two (2) copies of their tailored capability statement to the Office of Acquisition at the address provided no later than January 30, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. DST.
