Description
The United States Geological Survey, Washington Water Science Center, has a requirement for one (1) Distributed Temperature Sensing (DTS) Unit. DTS technology measures a temperature profile along an optical fiber over several kilometers. The DTS unit required is the instrument that sends and receives laser generated light impulses through a fiber-optic cable. The USGS currently owns multimode 50/125 fiber-optic cables with E2000 connectors. Additional details will be available in the request for quotation (RFQ). The RFQ, number 09WRQQ0045, will be made available through the Government-wide Point of Entry (GPE) on or about 26 January 2009, IAW Far 5.102(a)(1). All firms must be registered in the Central Contractor Registration (CCR) database at www.ccr.gov, as well as, the Online Representations and Certifications Application (ORCA) to be considered for award. Interested parties should contact the Contracting Officer in writing by email at sklingler@usgs.gov. This notice and any resulting solicitation or contract conforms to the requirements in place through FAC 2005-30, effective 15 January 2009.
