Description
The Naval Air Systems Command has a requirement to change all technical data for the AN/APG-79 Active Electronically Scanned Array (AESA) radar for the F/A-18E/F and EA-18G aircraft. Technical data and technical information for the AN/APG-79 will be retrofitted with the new program system nomenclature of AN/APG-79(V). The AESA prime integrator is McDonnell Douglas Corporation (MDC), A Wholly Owned Subsidiary of The Boeing Company, St. Louis, MO. The Navy intends to negotiate the retrofit as a delivery order off of a Basic Ordering Agreement (BOA) already established with MDC. Award of the original BOA was made with authority under FAR 6.302-1, only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. MDC has the requisite radar knowledge, experience, and technical data required to respond to this requirement. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. Interested parties may identify their interest and submit technical information and a technical capability statement in response to this notice. Responses without a return address, mailing address, and company telephone number will not be recognized. No phone calls will be accepted. Proprietary data in the responses will be protected where so designated. Offerors must be registered in the Central Contractor Registration (CCR) database to be eligible for contract award or payment from any DoD activity. A determination not to compete this proposed effort based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. For small business or subcontracting opportunities, contact MDC at (314) 233-6204. Any questions regarding this synopsis should be sent via e-mail to Christy.Schumacher@navy.mil by close of business 29 January 2009. See Number Note 22.
