Description
This combined synopsis/solicitation HSCG23-09-R-MNQ081 is hereby amended to respond to the following Vendor questions received. The following attachments are included and are hereby incorporated into this solicitation: (1) HITRON Questions and Responses and (2) (Amended) Go-Fast Tactical Training Boat Specification. 1. Under Boat Performance Characteristics, the maximum length is stated to be 48'. Will you please provide a definition of length? For example, does that maximum length include the motors/brackets in addition to the hull? Response: The Overall length shall be measured from the forward most extremity to the aft most extremity including the propulsion unit and/or control system. So the 48’ maximum length includes the engines, brackets, and any type of bow fixtures. 2. Under Boat Propulsion Requirements, a line is included that states "In addition to above, the Contractor shall propose the best (1) Engine Type and Fuel." Are we correct in interpreting this to mean that while outboard power is the threshold, we can propose inboard diesel power if we believe that is the best? Response: The outboard engine (with gasoline fuel) is a Threshold requirement and must be proposed. The specification is hereby amended to delete this sentence and to correct Section B.1 (Propulsion). 3. In the “Specifications” document, the Threshold requirement is for the boat to be built using fiberglass. We build our boats using aluminum (instead of fiberglass), and feel it is a better material. Would a boat built using aluminum instead of fiberglass be considered an Objective, or will the USCG only consider fiberglass boats? Response: The fiberglass is a Threshold requirement and must be proposed
