Description
The U.S. Army, Joint Munitions and Lethality Contracting Center, on behalf of the Office of the Product Manager, Crew Served Weapons and the U.S. Army Research, Development, and Engineering Command, Armament Research, Development and Engineering Center (RDECOM- ARDEC), Picatinny Arsenal, NJ are currently seeking sources for the availability of non-developmental 40mm Non-Lethal (NL) Extended Range Marking Cartridges. This round must be capable of providing an effective NL point control measure on a targeted individual/materiel through blunt impact kinetic energy and upon impacting its target mark the individual/materiel. The currently fielded 40mm NL round, the M1006, has an effective range of 10 50 meters. Respondents should provide information of there proposed cartridge design to include minimum safe distance and maximum effective range (15-75 meters desired) in the information submitted. The cartridge must be compatible with the M203 and M320 grenade launchers. Respondents should also provide information on the accuracy of their design at 75 meters (12-shot grouping) as well as at 100 meters. The mark after impact, during daylight hours, should be identifiable out to 75 meters with the naked eye and during night hours, should be infrared (IR) visible out to 100 meters with current night vision enhancement devices. All responsible interested sources are encouraged to submit their capabilities/qualification data in regard to the above no later than 30 days of this notice. All information is to be submitted at no cost or obligation to the Government. Please include company name, address, telephone number, technical point of contact, and brochures/literature. Firms interested in this acquisition should adequately describe their experience in 40mm NL cartridges. This is a market survey for informational and planning purposes only. THIS IS NOT A SOLITICATION AND DOES NOT OBLIGATE THE GOVERNMENT TO ISSUE A SOLICITATION. Please be advised that the Government will not pay for any information submitted under this announcement.
