Description

The Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) intends to issue a fixed price type contract to Northrop Grumman Corporation (NGC), Bethpage, NY for two (2) low rate initial production (LRIP) Lot 1 E-2D Advanced Hawkeye (AHE) aircraft. Additionally, NAVAIR intends to include a fixed price type option for two (2) low rate initial production (LRIP) Lot 2 E-2D AHE aircraft. The proposed effort also requires NGC to provide associated engineering, integrated logistics support, quality assurance, reliability and maintainability programs, testing, training and technical, administrative and financial data for both LRIP Lots. This contractual action is a follow-on procurement to the E-2 AHE SD&D contract N00019-03-C-0057 awarded to NGC on 04 August 2003 for design and development of the E-2D AHE weapon system. As sole designer, developer, and manufacturer of the E-2 aircraft weapon system, only NGC has the requisite knowledge and experience required to successfully manufacture the aircraft without causing unacceptable delays in meeting the Navy's operational requirements and without substantial duplication of cost to the Government.
