- The Department of Veterans Affairs VISN 7 has a requirement for medical transcription services. Medical reports to be transcribed shall include the following; Discharge Summaries, Compensation and Pension Examinations, Addenda to Compensation and Pension Examinations, Persian Gulf Examinations, Agent Orange Examinations, Operative Reports (coronary artery bypass graft procedures, valve replacement, joint replacements, discectomy & fusions, brain surgery, colostomies, hernia repairs, hysterectomies, cataract surgery, arthroplasty procedures, amputations, thyroidectomies with laryngeal nerve monitors, frontal endoscopic sinus surgery,V-Y advancement flap surgery, bunionectomies, thoracotomy with lobectomy, transhiatal esophagectomy, prostatectomy, TURBT, nephrectomy, patch angioplasty procedures, carotid endarterectomies, femoral-popliteal bypass graft procedures), Non-Operative Reports, (i.e. cardiac catheterization reports, endoscopy reports, dermatology reports), Outpatient Progress Notes, Inpatient Progress Notes, History and Physical Examination Reports, Cardiology Reports (Holter monitors, echocardiograms, stress treadmills), Neurology Reports (EEG, EMG, Doppier studies) Pulmonary Reports (Pulmonary function tests), Surgical Pathology Reports, Cytology Reports, Autopsy Reports, Inpatient Consultation Reports, Outpatient Consultation Reports, Mental Status Examinations and Radiology Reports. Services shall be provided for each of the eight medical centers within the Southeast Region. All offerors shall be required to submit a proposal using VA owned equipment and an alternative proposal using vendor owned equipment. Multiple awards of IDIQ contracts are anticipated.
