- The Department of Labor, Office of Procurement Services (OPS) intends to award a sole source contract for the Transit Subsity Program to the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (WMATA). The contractor shall provide the Department of Labor, Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) with SmarTrip Cards; provide a web-based system for fare to be added to the card on a monthly basis; as well as the ability to order metro checks that allow for the use of other means of transportation. This action will result in a Firm-Fixed Price contract, one base year and 4 option years with a period of performance of 18 January 2009- 17 January 2014. The NAICS code is 561599 and size standard is $6.5 million. This announcement is in accordance with FAR 6.302. The point of contact is Isaac V. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However, all proposals received within fifteen days after date of publication (NLT 12 Jan 2008, 1:00 pm EST) of this synopsis will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete with this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
