Description
NAICS Code: 541380 In accordance with FAR Part 12 Commercial Acquisition Procedures, the U.S. EPA ORD requires Pyrosequencing and Informatic Analysis for Amplification of Fecal DNA Extracts. The contractor shall provide analytical services which produce PCR amplicon libraries for V6 hypervariable regions from purified DNA extracts supplied by EPA and perform pyrosequencing reactions, DNA sequence reads, and informatic analysis of V6 tags. The contractor shall (1) perform amplification reactions using 454 Life Sciences primers A and B fused to conserved rRNA primers that flank the 5' and 3' ends of the V6 hypervariable region, (2) perform emulsion PCR, (3) perform pyrosequencing reactions using a Genome Sequencer FLX system; (4) read the DNA sequences, (5) provide FASTA electronic file(s) containing the sequencing results, and (6) perform informatic analyses including taxonomy assignments for each V6 tag sequence, rarefaction curve, and richness diversity estimates such as Chao1 and ACE estimators with 95% confidence intervals for each PCR amplicon library. This procurement will be conducted on a full and open basis. The applicable NAICS code is 541380. Award will be made using a trade-off's basis. All responsible sources considering themselves qualified may submit a quote which shall be considered by the Agency. Any firm believing itself capable of providing the required DNA sampling must request a copy of the RFQ in writing within fifteen (15) days of electronic posting of this notice, prior to January 14, 2009.
