- Description
- DESCRIPTION: REQUEST FOR INFORMATION (RFI)/INDUSTRY DAYANNOUNCEMENT: Air Force Materiel Command (AFMC) 4 Ft Fall Protection Initiative. There is no solicitation number or Request for Proposal (RFP) number available at this time. Air Force Materiel Command depot maintenance facilities currently provide worker fall protection at heights of ten feet and above. AFMC is considering reconfiguring all depot maintenance operations to provide a safe working height of four feet and above. The scope of this effort will include at least four depot maintenance locations within the United States (Warner-Robins ALC, GA; Ogden ALC, UT; Oklahoma City ALC, OK; and the 309 AMARG, Davis-Monthan AFB, AZ.) It is anticipated that a myriad of off-the-shelf and specialized equipment will be necessary. Additionally, modifications to existing infrastructure may be required. An initial industry opportunity to meet with cognizant government representatives and discuss the known requirements and intent of the AFMC 4 ft Fall Protection Initiative is scheduled for 27 29 January 2009 at the Warner-Robins Air Logistics Center, Warner-Robins AFB, GA. Contractors will be given a descriptive briefing of the AFMC 4 Ft Fall Protection Initiative on 27 January 2009 and the opportunity to discuss their understanding of the initiative during the government presentation and a follow-on Question and Answer session. Contractors may also schedule one-on-one discussions with government representatives on 27-29 January 2009 by contacting Chris Bucher at the telephone number referenced below. Contractors will be given an opportunity to discuss their understanding of the program and to present their capabilities/ concepts in general terms in the form of White Papers/Background Papers. These papers should include contractor general capabilities and concepts that may be of interest to the government and should be submitted electronically to Chris Bucher no later than 20 February 2009. Papers containing competition sensitive information should be marked "Proprietary/Competition Sensitive Information" wherever applicable. Proprietary/competition sensitive information will be protected by the government from disclosure. The Industry Day and White Papers will be considered an initial step in establishing industry understanding of the AFMC 4 Ft Fall Protection Initiative and to allow the government team to determine market understanding and capability to integrate and complete the initiative. This Request for Information (RFI) is issued for information purposes only and does not constitute a solicitation or commit the government to award a contract now or in the future. Participation in this RFI is voluntary and participants will not be compensated. This is not a Request for Proposal. The Government does not intend to award a contract on the basis of this announcement. Additional information to this announcement may be available periodically and provided in a subsequent announcement.
