Description
The Natick Soldier Research Development and Engineering Center is conducting market research to obtain information from sources capable of satisfying a need for an immediate procurement of a portable ladder system. This market research is for informational purposed only and does not constitute a commitment of any kind. Any information received, in whole or in part, may be used to create the resulting acquisition strategy for the proposed requirement. Responders will not be reimbursed for the information received. The Government is seeking commercial items, developmental items, or commercial items that can be easily modified to meet existing Government requirements. Information is being sought from capable sources for a portable ladder system with, but not limited to, the following requirements:(1) When extended, shall have an objective height of 32 feet and a threshold of 28 feet from the bottom of the ladder to the top rung; (2) shall be collapsible ; (3) shall have a safe working static load of 350 lbs, dynamic load of 700 lbs with minimal bowing and instability; (4) weight objective for the 28-foot ladder is 25 lbs, threshold is 40 lbs; (5) set up time objective is 30 seconds for 2 people; (6) shall be deployable and stable in uneven and varying terrain; (7) objective is to have a one piece system, threshold is 2 piece system at a combined weight as stated in requirement (4). Sources capable of satisfying the above requirements should submit a whitepaper no less than 2 pages and no more than 10 pages to the Government containing the necessary information to determine actual capability. At minimum, this information should include: 1) Identification of your company/organization 2) Description/literature of the product that fully or partially meets the requirements. 3) A description of your companys ability to modify an existing system to fully or partially meet all requirements. 3) Company point of contact 4) Notification of business size and/or special status 5) Any information that may be useful to the successful development/modification of an item that meets the requirements, if solicited. This market survey is for informational and planning purposes only, does not constitute a Request for Proposal (RFP), and is not to be construed as a commitment by the U. S. Government. The Government implies no intention or opportunity to acquire funding to support current or future development efforts. If a formal solicitation is generated at a later date, a solicitation notice will be published. No award will be made as a result of this market survey. All information is to be submitted at no cost or obligation to the Government. The Government reserves the right to reject, in whole or in part, any private sector input as a result of this market survey. Respondents will not be notified of the results of this survey or results of information submitted. Any information submitted will not be returned. If a firm chooses to submit samples they must pre-coordinate the shipment with the POC below. No payment will be made by the Government for such samples, and the samples will be returned at each company's request and each company desiring to submit or have a sample returned shall arrange for shipment at no cost to the Government.
