- Description
- The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), Mike Monroney Aeronautical Center (MMAC), Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, has a requirement for a commercial repair source in support of the Digital Bright Radar Indicator Tower Equipment (DBRITE) Cathode Ray Tube (CRT), Thomas Electronics P/N 22M66PT479M and/or Unisys P/N 3597-6315. The requirement will include the base year plus four one year options for renewal. The estimated annual quantity is 20 - 35 repair / rebuild actions per year. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) is 811219.These services are only known to be available from Thomas Electronics, Inc., Clyde New York. Thomas Electronics is the original manufacturer of the Cathode Ray Tube. They are the only manufacturer to meet the performance standards required by the DBRITE system prime contractor for the fabrication of the DBRITE Cathode Ray Tube. Thomas Electronics is uniquely qualified as the only repair source, since they are the sole possessor of the test bed/test pattern generator, and the electron gun required to repair and remanufacture the DBRITE Cathode Ray Tube. The test bed is one of a kind unit built for Thomas Electronics by Orwin Associates, and the Cathode Ray Tube cannot be calibrated and aligned to the required specifications without the use of the one of a kind test bed. The electron gun is used in the repair of virtually all of the DBRITE Cathode Ray Tubes. Please include #08-56322 for any responses to this survey. Any questions must be submitted in writing and emailed to christopher.ekadis@faa.gov, prior to November 21, 2008.
