Description

Thank you for your interest in RFI AG-3142-I-08-1000 for Disaster Recovery (DR). Several responses were received. Most of the responses were detailed enough to demonstrate that the market has several qualified Contractors who could meet the DR requirements of the Office of the Chief Financial Officer/Associate Chief Financial Officer for Financial systems (ACFO-FS). Most of the respondents did not provide a detailed cost model to perform a direct cost comparison. This was mostly attributed to the substantial learning curve required to identify all of the cost factors. The outcome of the RFI demonstrated the feasibility and the likely cost savings; however, the savings would be offset by the associated risks. An analysis of alternatives and recommendation was presented to senior management. The recommendation was to continue with the "as is" Solution until the end of Fiscal Year 2009 and then re-evaluate the alternatives. There was not enough information on NFC's potential rate increase and possible savings resulting from outsourcing the DR services to justify the increased risk at this time. Thank you for your patience and interest in working with USDA. This RFI is canceled.
