Description: SOURCES SOUGHT/MARKET RESEARCH U.S. Army Contracting Command, Rock Island Site Description: SMALL CALIBER AMMUNITION PROCUREMENT THE NAICS CODE FOR THIS ANNOUNCEMENT IS 332992 This announcement is in support of Market Research performed by the United States Army Contracting Command, Rock Island Site to determine interest and capability in small caliber ammunition production. When providing capability, please indicate the specific type of small caliber ammunition you can produce in-house and/or your capability to obtain ammunition from outsourcing. Please include quantity and delivery capacity for each type of small caliber ammunition. Potential award of a firm fixed price contract to a systems integrator is contemplated in Fiscal Year 2011 with delivery orders/options through 2015. The small caliber ammunition program consists of the following cartridge families: 5.56mm, 7.62mm, and.50 caliber. Small caliber ammunition supports the following soldier weapons: M161A1/A2 rifle, M4 carbine, M249 squad automatic weapon, M240 machine gun,.50 caliber M2 machine gun; as well as sniper rifles. The cartridge end item consists of all components and includes Load, Assembly, and Pack. The USG has no intention of waiving any technical data package requirements (dimensional, material, ballistics, quality, packaging, etc.). Pending results of this Market Survey, an industry day may be planned to further determine the potential to meet the subject requirement. This announcement is for INFORMATION and PLANNING PURPOSES ONLY and should NOT be construed as a commitment by the Government for any purpose. This announcement does not constitute a Request for Proposal and no contract will be awarded from this announcement. Requests for solicitation will not receive a response. No reimbursement will be made for any costs associated with providing information in response to this announcement and any follow-up information requests. No basis for claim against the Government shall arise as a result from a response to this announcement or Government use of any information provided. This announcement does not restrict the Government to an ultimate acquisition strategy. The Government reserves the right to consider acquisition strategies as deemed appropriate. Depending on the information received from this announcement, the Government may plan a Small Caliber Ammunition Industry Day.
