- A site visit is scheduled for November 10th, at 10:00a.m. with Property Manager, Staci Steiner. 775-784-5448 Scope of Work Installation of Additional Wiring and Lighting Switches in the Warehouse Area Installation of Sliding Glass Observation Window for the Lobby USGS, Nevada Science Center 2730 N. Deer Run Road Carson City, Nevada 89701 Date Prepared, 10-21-2008 Scope of Work Part 1 – General 1.01 Location/ Objective A. The project is located at the USGS, Nevada Science Center, 2730 N. Deer Run Road, Carson City, Nevada 89701 B.The objective of this project is to upgrade the warehouse light switching, install additional electrical outlets and purchase/install a sliding observation window for room #214. 1.02 Work Summary A. General Intent: USGS, Warehouse, Room 111 •Provide material and labor to evaluate existing electrical circuit capacities through out the warehouse area. •Material and labor for the installation of two (2) 4-plex 110VAC electrical outlets at the work bench equally spaced. •Material and labor for the installation of one (1) pole in the workshop area. From the electrical panel run conduit to the pole and install two (2) 4-plex 110 VAC electrical outlets three (3) AFF. •Reconfigure and install additional breakers as required at the electrical panel to accommodate the usage of drill press, compressor, saws and miscellaneous power hand tools simultaneously. •Provide material and labor for the installation of 4-way lighting switches at the three (3) entries to allow for all existing lighting to be energized at these locations. See attachment #1. USGS, Room 214 and Lobby •Provide all material and labor for the installation of one (1), 3’ X 4’ sliding and lockable window, forty (40) inches AFF. See attachment #3. •Glass shall be high impact safety glass with embedded wire. Glass shall be mirror tent on the lobby side. •Provide material and labor for the installation of one (1) 18” X 48” laminated counter on the lobby side of the window. •Window casing, frame and all trim shall be wood and match existing. •Touch up paint to match existing. •Relocate the data, phone and electrical outlets that are at the window location. NOTE: It is the sole responsibility of the contractor to field verify all dimensions, site conditions, utility/service locations and equipment/material compatibility. NOTE: The contractor shall provide the U.S. Government with a proposal, which includes a line item break-down of work to be performed. 1.03 Coordination/Correspondence A.All work on-site shall be coordinated with the GSA Project Manager. B. All technical correspondence pertaining to the project shall be directed to the GSA Project Manager. Part 1 Execution A.All activity of this contract shall be completed within 30 calendar days after “Notice to Proceed” is issued. 1.1A Temporary Services A.Owner will pay cost of any energy used (i.e. water, electricity, etc.) during the performance of this task; however, contractor should exercise measures to conserve energy to the maximum extent possible. B.Contractor shall provide all tools and equipment deemed necessary to successfully complete this project in a timely and professional manner. 1.1BFacilities A.Existing permanent designated facilities located in another location may be used during the project. Locations shall be determined by the clients representative. 1.1C Parking A.Use of existing agency ( USGS) on-site parking will be provided during the duration of this project. B.Tracked vehicles will not be allowed on paved areas without the expressed written consent of GSA or GSA’s Representative. 1.1D Temporary security access and control A.All contract employees gaining entry to a Federally owned and or leased building must pass a limited background check. Background paperwork must be completed and returned at least five (5) business days in advance of the scheduled project start date. B. Contract employees will be escorted by a USGS representative if the urgency of the project or repairs is deemed necessary. 1.1E Contractor Supervision/Inspections A. The contractor shall have a qualified company supervisor on site at all times during the project to ensure quality of work and items outlined in the scope of work are accomplished per plan and specification. B. The contractor/on-site supervisor shall contact the GSA Project Manager for project phase inspections. 1.1F Cleaning and waste removal A.Through out the work day, clean-up building premises and project site. Properly dispose of all construction waste, rubbish and debris. Do not allow material, rubbish, and debris to accumulate or cause a hazardous condition. B.Remove debris and rubbish from pipe chases, plenums, attics, crawl spaces, and other closed or remote spaces, prior to enclosing the space. 1.1GOwner Occupancy A.The owner /tenant will occupy the premises during the entire period of the project and shall be conducting normal operations. B.Contractor will cooperate with the owner to minimize conflict, and to facilitate owners Operations. END
