- Description
- This is the award of a firm fixed-price contract resulting from solicitation HSFEMS-08-R-0038 for the deactivation of mobile home temporary housing units in the state of Mississippi. There are approximately 1000 MHs expected to be deactivated in Mississippi during the base period of performance (November 1, 2008, through March 31, 2009). Mobile home deactivation services consist of disconnection of utilities, securing of MH contents, proper disposal of unwanted materials, repairs and preparation of MH for contractor transportation to the staging area, cleaning of unit, pest control, preparation for storage, site restoration, rtemporaty power poles (TPP) removal, and project management. Contractor is to have the capacity to ramp up to handle peak periods of deactivation, 50 to 75 MHs per week. In addition to MH deactivation services, there are approximately 150 TPPs remaining on various sites throughout the state of Mississippi and may require removal under the scope of this contract. TPP removal consists of, but is not limited to, mobilization to the site, verification of TPP being de-energized, removal/disposal of TPP, and backfilling of any holes. Additionally, MH relocation and/or installation services may be required as directed by the COTR. FEMA anticipates a requirement for approximately 20 installations and 20 relocations. MH installation services consist of transportation of MH from FEMA staging area to site location, site preparation, installation and connection of all utilities, blocking and leveling, anchoring and straps, and installation of standard steps, platform and steps, or Uniform Federal Accessibility Standards (UFAS) ramps. MH relocation services consist of disconnection of utilities, proper disposal of unwanted materials, repairs and preparation for transportation, site restoration, TPP removal, transportation to new location, re-installation and connection of all utilities, site preparation, blocking and leveling, anchoring and straps, and installing standard steps, platform and steps, or UFAS ramps. The contract base period of performance is November 1, 2008, through March 31, 2009. The period of performance may be extended for four (4) additional six (6) month option periods.
