Description
The U.S. Department of Labor (DOL) is seeking qualified contractors to provide services to include a hotel/motel with sleeping room blocks for attendees to make their reservations, meeting space, and audio visual equipment rental and set-up for a period of five days in Fall 2009 in Washington, D.C. in order to provide the DOL/Job Corps Annual Leadership Summit. DOL is looking for firms that qualify under the Small Business Programs mentioned in Federal Acquisition Regulation Subpart 19. When submitting your response, it is vital that you indicate under which program(s) you qualify, including Hubzone, Service Disabled, Veteran Owned Small Business, 8(a) program, Small Disadvantaged Business, or Small Business. The NAICS Code is 721110, Hotels (except Casino Hotels) and Motels, the Size Standard for which is $6.5M. The work to be provided is described in the draft statement of work in this announcement. Responses must include the following: -Company information: name, address, point of contact, e-mail address, telephone number, and DUNS number. Identify all socio-economic categories into which your company fits. -Describe your company’s capability to perform work similar to the effort described in the Attachment A. (Limit to 20 pages or less) All contractors responding to this announcement must demonstrate their ability to meet the requirements in the statement of work: Statement of Work A. Background DOL/Job Corps Annual Leadership Summit, held once a year, is the largest annual gathering of the Job Corps community with approximately 700 in attendance including Job Corps center directors and staff, operators, and regional federal staff. The Annual Leadership Summit is a working conference that informs the Job Corps community of the National Director’s goals. The summit includes plenary sessions and workshops. B. Goals/Objective The U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Job Corps requires a sleeping room block for attendees to make their room reservations, meeting space, and audio visual equipment rental and set-up for a period of five days in Fall 2009 in Washington, D.C. in order to provide the DOL/Job Corps Annual Leadership Summit. Scope of work Job Corps requires: •A meeting room block of at least 2,000 room nights between September 13, 2009 and November 20, 2009. •Meeting space to accommodate 700 people over the course of 3 days. The meeting space must include break out rooms, as well as a ballroom to accommodate all attendees during plenary sessions. •A limited number of these rooms should be available one day prior to the start of the conference for the purpose of set-up of a Cyber Café and a staff room, as well as rehearsal space for workshops and plenary speakers. •A limited number of these rooms should be available for one day following the end of the conference for the purpose of tear down of the Cyber Café and staff room, and meeting space for wrap up meetings. •Meeting rooms must be equipped with an LCD projector & chart, Internet capability upon request, and a variety of microphones as needed (e.g., podium microphones, wireless hand held microphones, and lavalieres, etc.) •Technicians should be on hand to set up and disassemble all audio visual equipment as needed, and provide any necessary technical support. The meeting space and overnight accommodations must be located in Washington, D.C. and must meet all of the following requirements: •Be centrally located in Washington, D.C. for convenient arrival and departure for out-of-state attendees; •Be within 10 minutes walking distance from a metro station; •Have wireless high speed Internet access in the guest rooms; •Have in hotel dining; •Have on-site business centers; and •Be handicapped accessible. Interested vendors must provide their response via e-mail with the subject line reading “RFI xxx”, to the contract specialist’s e-mail address Responses are due by November 11, 2008 by 3 p.m. local prevailing time. The response must be specific to the qualifications listed above. Submissions shall not exceed a total of 20 pages. A determination by the Government to proceed with the acquisition as a set-aside is within the discretion of the Government. Please be advised that telephone inquiries will not be accepted. PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS NOT A REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL. In accordance with Federal Acquisition regulation (FAR) 10.002(b)2)(i) this notice is issued for the purpose of market research. This request is for planning purposes only, and does not constitute a Solicitation or an indication the Government will contract for the items contained in this notice. This notice is not to be construed as an acquisition request for Proposal (RFP), nor is any commitment on the part of the Government to award a contract implied, nor does the Government intend to pay for any cost associated with submission of the information being requested or reimburse expenses incurred to interested parties for responses to this notice. Any response received will not be used as a proposal.
