Description
Savannah District, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers will be issuing on October 6, 2008 a Notice of Availability (NOA) soliciting applications from interested individuals, firms, or organizations seeking to perform as the Exchange Partner. This issuance will be done by posting the NOA on the Corps of Engineers RPX website http://eul.army.mil/RPX/. To view the NOA at this website go to the “Projects” tab on the left side of the page and click Orland Park. The NOA and its appendices will be posted on the RPX website. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, on behalf of the United States Army Reserve (USAR), is conducting a unique exchange opportunity involving the exchange of +9 acres of land and facilities known as the Area Maintenance Support Activity (AMSA) #45 for the construction of a new AMSA facility to be located on the Joliet Army Training Area near Elwood, IL. This exchange transaction will be conducted under the USAR’s Real Property Exchange (RPX) Program utilizing the legislative authority of 10 U.S.C. 18240, commonly called the “Exchange Authority.” The Exchange Authority permits Department of Defense Reserve Component Agencies to convey certain real property assets in exchange for land and/or real property improvements, existing and/or to be constructed, and cash equalization payments if value beyond the Government assets remains. The real property, real property improvements and any cash equalization payments received by the USAR must be of a combined value at least equal to the fair market value of the property to be conveyed, Orland Park AMSA, as determined by the USAR. The U.S. Army Reserves and the Corps of Engineers will be hosting an Industry Forum in Orland Park on October 29, 2008 to discuss this project with representatives of organizations or individuals interested in applying to be selected to perform as the Exchange Partner. Additional details regarding the Industry Forum and registration form are located on the RPX website. Point of Contact: Tommy R. Hill, Savannah District U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (912) 652-6280 tommy.r.hill@usace.army.mil
