Description
This is not a solicitation announcement. This is a sources sought. This sources sought synopsis is for information and planning purposes and is not to be construed as a commitment by the Government nor will the Government pay for information solicited. Since this is a sources sought announcement, no evaluation letters and/or results will be issued to the respondents. The Marine Corps Systems Command (MCSC), Program Manager for Ammunition (PMAMMO) has a requirement to procure the Rocket, Assault Common Practice (CP) 83MM SMAW, DODIC: HX07. The Rocket, 83mm High-Explosive Anti-Armor (HEAA) Common Practice MK7 Mod 0 (SMAW) (DODIC HX07), NSN: 1340-01-227-8871. The rocket is designed as a practice round for DODICs HX05 and HX06 SMAW rockets. The rocket is an unguided, practice rocket contained in a disposable one-shot rocket container. The container protects the rocket during storage, transportation, and field handling. It also functions as an integral part of the launcher in the weapon configuration. The encased rocket is mated to the SMAW launcher both mechanically and electrically with one simple twist locking motion. Candidate systems must have achieved a level of technical maturity such that they are capable of meeting all performance requirements and successfully completing a Government Qualification program without additional research and development. The North American Industry Classification (NAICS) Code is 332313, Rocket Casings, Fabricated Metal Work, Manufacturing or 332993, Rockets, Ammunition Manufacturing. All contractors who provide goods and or services to the DoD must be registered in the Central Contractor Register (CCR). Any forthcoming solicitation will require online certifications and representations (ORCA), http://orca.bpn.gov. Failure to comply with ORCA registration may make the offerors ineligible for award. Responses to this sources sought notice should include a brief description of the technology. Firms should include literature, brochures, and capabilities summaries directly addressing their ability to meet the aforementioned needs. Firms are to state their business size, NAICS Code, and identify a corporate point of contact. Interested sources may identify their interest and capability to meet the requirements by submitting a white paper, technical data for the item, past performance, and their capability to provide test units upon request no later than close of business 4:00 PM EST, 17 December 2008 to Commanding General, Marine Corps Systems Command, Attn: Code PMM 2041, 2200 Lester St., Quantico, VA 22134, email laurel.baker@usmc.mil. Questions may be submitted in writing via email to laurel.baker@usmc.mil. The cutoff for questions will be 4:00 PM EST, 10 December 2008.
