*CHANGES TO SOLICITATION POSTING DATE AND ESTIMATED START WORK DATE BELOW.* ESTIMATED ISSUE Date Electronically in FedBizOpps is October 21, 2008 Estimated base year start work date will be November 17, 2008 ***ESTIMATED ISSUE Date Electronically in FedBizOpps is October 6, 2008 **** This project requires quotes from professional geotechnical drilling firms to perform comprehensive and safe geotechnical drilling services for the USDA Forest Service and USDI Bureau of Land Management. This project is a requirements type. Quantities shown on the schedule for base year and option years one and two shall be the estimated quantity for the government to place orders against. Project work shall consist of providing qualified geotechnical drilling personnel and equipment, including driller and helper(s), drill rig(s), hoses, pumps and any necessary equipment and supplies to perform core drilling, soil sampling, hollow stem auguring, testing, and borehole instrumentation services. Drilling services are to include all mobilization, moving, setting up, loading, water level and other measuring, and provide samples and core for logging at the site by the USFS, or other Government officials. Typical projects may include, but are not limited to: Rock Resource Investigations (R.S.I.), Slope Stability Investigations (S.S.I.), Foundation Investigations (F.I.), and monitoring well installations and/or abandonment. Materials encountered will include all types of geologic formations and deposits found in the states of Washington and Oregon. This solicitation will be a Total Small Business Set Aside per FAR 19.502-2(a). Estimated base year start work date will be November 1, 2008 or earlier with two option years running from 1 November to 31 October each year.
