Description
Sources Sought Synopsis: Turret Crew Cooling Unit (TCCU) 1.This is a sources sought synopsis (SSS) only. There is no solicitation available. This is a request for preliminary planning purposes, and it does not constitute an Invitation for Bids, Request for Proposal, Solicitation, or a Request for Quote. It is not an indication that the government will contract for the services contained in the SSS. No reimbursement will be made for any costs associated with providing information in response to this SSS. 2.This sources sought announcement is in support of Market Research being conducted by the U.S. Army TACOM Life Cycle Management Command to identify sources (unrestricted competition) that are capable of performing the requirements identified in the below Work Description. WORK DESCRIPTION: a.Description of Work for Turret Crew Cooling Unit (TCCU) Kits: The Contractor shall provide a Turret Crew Cooling Unit (TCCU) kit capable of cooling the liquid cooling vests in the turret of the Abrams Tank for three soldiers. The TCCU kit must perform in an ambient temperature of 125 deg F, with a system outlet temperature of 66.0 Deg F provide a minimum of 1000 watts (threshold) of cooling. Objective performance is 1200 watts of cooling under the same conditions. This shall be obtainable through a single liquid connection, one inlet and one outlet. The TCCU shall provide this cooling continuously for an indefinite period of time. The system shall run off 24V DC vehicle power. 3.Interested sources are invited to respond to this sources sought announcement by providing the following information. 1) Part/Product Number: Provide part number, product or catalog number, price lists, specification sheets, etc. of similar commercial off the shelf items that can meet this requirement. Responses are to be sent electronically to TARDEC Engineering, Attention: Mr. Andrew Schultz, email Andrew.Schultz@us.army.mil. All responses must be in writing and received by 31 October 2008.
