Description

The United States Government Printing Office(GPO)intends to procure a direct imaging type 4-color press with a UV coating unit. The press shall be equal to 52 DI 4-Color Press manufactured by Presstek. The press shall use waterless ink which eliminates the use of the dampening system. It shall also be equipped with one central main console which controls various operations of the press. The press shall be equipped with at least three chilled rollers to remove the heat from the ink rollers. It shall also have the capability of printing GPO Quality Level II printing. For information of the Quality Levels, see http://www.gpo.gov/printforms/pdf/qatap.pdf The press shall also have the capability of printing on various substrates such as manifold paper, poster weights, synthetic paper label stock, converted envelopes, etc. It shall also have the capability of printing 300LPI and frequency modulated(FM)screening. The press shall have features that allow the press operator to do plate advancing, imaging, printing, and blanket cleaning with a push of a button.
