This solicitation (SP4705-09-R-0001) incorporates provisions and clauses in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 2005-23, effective December 26, 2007. This acquisition is unrestricted. The applicable North American Industry Classification Standard Code is 493190 and the small business size standard is 23.5 million dollars. The award will be in accordance with FAR 6.1. The solicitation will result in a fixed price contract with a base year and two (2) option years. Please submit all questions in writing to the Point of Contact by October 15, 2008. Interested parties are responsible for monitoring this site to ensure that they have the most up-to-date information about this acquisition. J6F must create daily, weekly and monthly data tapes of all files created on the HQC LAN. The value of the data being created, stored and utilized within the DLA HQ IT Services distributed computing environment is increasing rapidly as we rely on these technologies to fuel the day today operations of the Headquarters Defense Logistics Agency. Loss of this data would have a major impact on the ability for us to support the War Fighters. Therefore, it is imperative that backup copies of the data be created and stored at a location outside the agency. The intention is to award a Firm Fixed Price Contract. The period of performance is one (1) base year beginning October 27, 2008 with two (2) one (1) year options with the total life of the contract not exceeding 36 months. Specifically, J6F requires the services of a bona fide, qualified electronic computer media storage Contractor, who will provide secure storage sites, in compliance with GSA/ Federal Specifications (described herein) and industry standards for the storage and protection of magnetic computer media against fire, physical intrusion, magnetic field interference, and other normal hazards, and who will provide secure courier services and bar code-based media management services. The primary objective of the Off-Site Storage is to further ensure that essential information contained on the HQC LAN is recoverable in the event of a site disaster. In order to provide assurance this media containing the system backups be removed from the building to a physically secure location that meets all Federal, DOD and GSA requirements. All offerors wishing to submit a proposal subsequent to the solicitation described herein must be registered in the Central Contractor Registration (CCR) database as well as the Online Representations and Certifications Application (ORCA) database or risk their otherwise-timely proposal being considered non-responsive regardless of its completeness, timeliness or other salient considerations. Offerors are encouraged to obtain further information on CCR and ORCA registrations at the following two websites: http://www.ccr.gov/ and http://orca.bpn.gov/. Hard copies of the solicitation document will not be available. All future information about this acquisition, including solicitation amendments, will also be distributed solely through Federal Business Opportunities website at www.fedbizopps.gov. Interested parties are responsible for monitoring this site to ensure that they have the most up-to-date information about this acquisition.
