Description
NAICS Code: 421490 Benchtop Centrifuge, Refrigerated Centrifuge, and UltraCentrifuge Request for Quotes This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in FAR Subpart 12.6, as supplemented through FAC 2005-27. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; quotes are being requested and an additional written solicitation will not be issued.The applicable NAICS code is 421490, Other Professional Equipment and Supplies Merchant Wholesalers. Vendors may submit a quote for individual line items or any combination of line items. It is the Government's intent to award one or multiple Purchase Order(s) by Friday, October 17, 2008 to the vendor(s) whose quote provides the best value to the Government for the items listed below: Line Item #1 - Benchtop Centrifuge - The minimum requirements include: 1) Dimension of 14x22x26 (HxWxD), 2) Speed up to 14,000rpm, 3) Compatibility with Jouan C422 Model and Sorvall RC26 Plus Model adaptors and buckets, and 4) Capacity of containers size from 1 ml to 250 ml. Line Item #2 - Refrigerated Centrifuge - The minimum requirements include: 1) Capable of sitting on a laboratory benchtop ( i.e. be a tabletop unit), 2) Capable of maintaining temperature between the ranges of -10 degrees C and +40 degrees C, 3) Has an electronic control panel that allows the easy entry of time, temperature, speed/g-force, and radius values, 4) Includes a swinging bucket that can handle both 15 mL and 50 mL conical tubes, 5) Includes two fixed angle rotors: one that can handle both 15 mL and 50 mL conical tubes and one that can handle 1.5 mL micro-centrifuge tubes, 6) Has automatic rotor recognition, and 7) Has the ability to provide a minimum of 10,000 rcf rotational force. Line Item #3 - Sorvall "Discovery M-120 SE 115V UltraCentrifuge" - The minimum requirements include: 1) Fits within a 2 feet by 2 feet area on the floor, 2) Is no taller than 4 feet with the door open, 3) Capable of spinning samples at a minimum of 100,000 g up to 200,000 g, and 4) Has a swinging bucket rotor with a 20 ml capacity. The brand name is required due to the limited space available in EPA's laboratory. If a company has the ability to provide another centrifuge with the same specs as the Discovery M-120 SE 115V UltraCentrifuge, then the company may submit a quote including the specifications of the centrifuge, which if received by the response date of this announcement may be considered. For potential orders placed against the Purchase Order, there may be multiple ship to destinations. The above line items must be delivered no later than November 1, 2008. The provisions at 52.212-1, Instructions to Offerors-Commercial; 52.212-2, Evaluation-Commercial Items; 52.212-3, Offeror Representations & Certifications-Commercial Items; 52.212-4, Contract Terms and Conditions-Commercial Items; and 52.212-5, Contract Terms and Conditions Required to Implement Statutes or Executive Orders-Commercial Items apply to this acquisition. The specific evaluation criteria to be included are the following: a) technical capability and b) price.
