- The Air Force Research Laboratory, Eglin AFB, Florida intends to award a commercial, firm-fixed price purchase order for linear actuators with integrated electronics to support the trainable gun mount prototype. This shall be a small business set aside. This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in subpart 13.5, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation. The announcement number is FA8651-08-M-0303. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this acquisition is 335312. Please identify your business size in your response based upon this standard. Award will be made to the lowest priced, technically acceptable offeror. Price items separately by CLIN and include costs for shipping in the price. The ship-to address for the items being procured is Eglin AFB, FL. 32542 The requirement consists of the following items: CLIN 0001, (2 EA): Linear actuator. 6" stroke, 0.1" lead M23 Connectors Rear clevis Male, US standard rod end 2-stack, 48VDC, 1300 RPM motor stator (can be run at 24VDC at ½ the speed of the 48VDC operation) Pre-loaded follower CLIN 0002, (2 EA): Linear actuator, 12" stroke, 0.1" lead M23 Connectors Rear clevis Male, US standard rod end 2-stack, 48VDC, 1300 RPM motor stator (can be run at 24VDC at ½ the speed of the 48VDC operation) Pre-loaded follower CLIN 003, (8 EA): Motor power cable, 25' long CLIN 0004, (8 EA): I/O cable, 25' long CLIN 0005, (2 EA): Communications cable, 15' long The solicitation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 2005-26. An Ombudsman has been appointed to address concerns of offeror or potential offerors. The Ombudsman does not diminish the authority of the program manager or contracting officer, but communicates contractor concerns, issues, disagreements and all recommendations to the appropriate Government personnel. When requested, the Ombudsman shall maintain strict confidentiality as to the source of the concern. The Ombudsman does not participate in the evaluation of proposals or the source selection process.
