- Description
- NASA/ARC has a requirement for a three-axis, ultra-high vacuum (UHV) compatiblepiezoelectric scanning stage system with an electronic controller and a customizedLabVIEW software interface for the development of a miniature-scanning electronmicroscope (m-SEM).The vendor must provide the following:I. HARDWARE Three-axis, ultra-high vacuum (<10-8 Torr) compatible piezoelectric scanning stageto provide scanning capabilities of the m-SEMs optical column for image formation. UHVcompatibility is required since the m-SEM will be operated at very low pressures. Controller unit for stage position manipulation and detection.II. SOFTWARE Custom LabVIEW interface for driving the controller and therefore the scanning stage. A LabVIEW interface is necessary for system integration since the other components ofthe m-SEM, including the secondary electron detector system and the image processing, will be driven by this software.III. Additional Requirements- 3.5x3.5x1.5 footprint- software ability to move the Z axis without interrupting a constant scan in X and Y- Non-magnetic material- Bakeable to 100C- Range of motion 200 microns in X, 200 microns in Y, 25 microns in Z- Resolution < 1nm on every axis- Maximum load 1kg- Z motion uncoupled from X and Y motion This notice is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared inaccordance with the format in FAR Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additionalinformation included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the onlysolicitation, which is issued as a Request for Quotation (RFQ); quotes are beingrequested and a written solicitation will not be issued. Offerors are required to usethe On-Line RFQ system to submit their quote. The On-line RFQ system is linked above orit may be accessed at http://prod.nais.nasa.gov/cgi-bin/eps/bizops.cgi?gr=C&pin=. Theinformation required by FAR Subpart 12.6 is included in the on-line RFQ.The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12 and the SimplifiedAcquisition Procedures set forth in FAR Part 13.Questions regarding this acquisition must be submitted in writing to Rachel Jandron atRachel.A.Jandron@nasa.gov no later than 12:00 p.m. (noon PST) on October 10, 2008. It isthe quoter's responsibility to monitor this site for the release of amendments (if any). Potential quoters will be responsible for downloading their own copy of this notice, theon-line RFQ and amendments (if any).Oral Communication are not acceptable in response to this solicitation.
