- This is a COMBINED SYNOPSIS/SOLICITATION for commercial items prepared in accordance with the information in FAR Part 12, using Simplified Acquisition Procedures FAR part 13. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation. This combined synopsis/solicitation SHALL be posted on both FEDBIZOPPS and NECO (https://www.neco.navy.mil/ ). The Request for Quote (RFQ) number is N00244-08-T-0795. This solicitation document incorporates provisions and clauses in effect through FAC 2005-26 effective June 12, 2008 and DFARS Change Notice 20080915. It is the responsibility of the contractor to be familiar with the applicable clauses and provisions. The clauses may be accessed in full text at these addresses: www.acqnet.gov/far and http://www.acq.osd.mil/dpap/dfars/index.htm. The NAICS code is 811212 the Business Standard Size is $23.0 mil. Requirement is unrestricted. The Fleet and Industrial Supply Center, San Diego intends to award a firm fixed price purchase order on a sole source basis to Bell and Howell Company, Inc. This requirement is for a maintenance renewal of a Flexisorter, Tag # 85901A, Serial # 053998. This machine sorts and reads the zip code on each piece of mail according to location and marks the mail with particular barcode. Authority is granted under the procedures of the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 6.302-1 Other Than Full and Open Competition. The attached copy of the solicitation contains a complete description of the service and applicable provisions and clauses. This announcement will close at 4:00 pm 23 Sept 2008. Pre-bid inquires shall be submitted to the Contract Specialist, Claudia Aguzar via e-mail at email address: Claudia.aguzar@navy.mil. Central Contractor Registration (CCR): Contractors must be registered in the CCR database to be considered for award. Registration is free and can be completed on-line at http://www.ccr.gov/. All quotes shall include price(s), FOB point, a point of contact, name and phone number, business size, and payment terms. Quotes over 10 pages in total will not be accepted by facsimile. Each response must clearly indicate the capability of the contractor to meet all specifications and requirements of the solicitation. See note 22.
