Description
The Bureau of Reclamation intends to negotiate on a sole source basis with SOJITZ CORPORATION OF AMERICA, Three Riverway, Suite 800, Houston TX 77056 the authorized representative/distributor for MHI Turbo-Techno Co (MTT) Water Pump spare parts in the Southwest. The requirement is for purchase of replacement bearings; 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th Stage Bowl Bearings; Discharge and Bellmouth and Top Shaft bearings. The Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 6.302-1. The Government believes that only one responsible source can provide the supplies that satisfy the agency requirements. The requirement is for original equipment manufacturer replacement parts. A Justification for Other than Full and Open Competition has been prepared in support of this acquisition. Firms that recognize and can provide the required items described above are encouraged to identify themselves and give written notification to the Contracting Officer. This notice is not a request for competitive quotes. All responses received within 7 days of the date of publication of this synopsis will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed action based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. Responses should include the firm's Dun and Bradstreet (DUNS) Number. Firms should identify themselves as either small business, or other than small business, in accordance with the size standard of 750 employees under the North American Industry Classification Systems (NAICS) code of 332991. Responses to this notice should be mailed to Bureau of Reclamation, Acquisitions and Assistance Team (YAO-3100 Cordero), 7301 Calle Agua Salada, Yuma, Arizona, 85364; via facsimile to 928-343-8568; or by E-mail at mcordero@lc.usbr.gov. Effective October 1, 2003, prospective vendors must be registered in the Central Contractor Register (CCR) prior to the award of a contract. Lack of registration in the CCR database may make an offeror ineligible for award. The CCR Handbook and information on the registration process can be obtained via the CCR website, http://www.ccr.gov or by calling 1-888-227-2423.
