- The Fleet Industrial Supply Center Norfolk, Contracting Department, Philadelphia intends to solicit on a sole source basis, the Families and Work Institute of New York, NY for the sponsorship and attendance at the 2009 Families & Work Institute's Legacy Awards (FWILA)for the Chief of Naval Personnel, Washington, DC. This sponsorship includes seating for up to twelve Navy personnel at the dinner/award ceremony, listing as a Top Tier Sponsor of the Event and a full-page ad in the FWILA publication, a half-day training event for four members of the Task Force Life/Work (TFLW) team, as well as one organizational consulting session or public speaking event by either Ellen Galinsky (President & CEO, Families & Work Institute) or Ted Childs (President & CEO, Ted Childs, Inc.), both internationally recognized experts in the field of work/family and work/life policy. The Navy intends to solicit for a Firm Fixed Price purchase order. This procurement is a sole source acquisition with Families & Work Institute, under the authority of FAR 6.302-1. Families & Work Institute is the only provider of this type of award ceremony. THIS NOTICE OF INTENT IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE QUOTATIONS. The period of performance will consist of 12-months. The applicable NAICS code for this requirement is 541720. The proposed contract action is for services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 6.302. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement. All technical capability statements received within five days after date of publication of this synopsis will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete with this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of th! e Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
