Description
This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with FAR 13, Simplified Acquisitons. The Naval Inventory Control Point (NAVICP) intends to award a Firm Fixed Price purchase order for ATOS2/BFT Equipment (see below). This is a small business set aside. All equipment must be quoted. Therefore, in your quote please specify business size along with the Dun and Bradstreet Number as the vendor must be Central Contractor Registered. Additionally this is a brand name procurement in which substitutions are not authorized or accepted. The attachment provides an equipment listing for hardware. Point of Contact is Jodi Knapp at the NAVICP, Telephone (717) 605-3522 or email at jodi.knapp@navy.mil Brand Name Information: EXP400 External SCSI Storage Enclosure (with Hard Disks) POPS is supporting a storage solution to recurrent and chronic disk speed issues on A2 (the number of IOPS is in the 2400 range, it needs to be in the 20000 range). EXP400 enclosures have been used elsewhere in the A2 storage solution. These disk systems were selected due to engineering analysis to meet specific performance requirements. In general, it is bad for an integrated IT system to use a mish-mash of parts from different vendors; even if certain specs are identical, subtle differences (drivers, voltages, levels of support) can make maintenance and troubleshooting difficult. Changing individual components of a complicated, well-engineered system can lead to the failure to meet mission requirements. For this reason, EXP400 SCSI Enclosures are required.
